Ryan Kilbride entered the weekend with an article already drafted, a dynasty already crowned and an unreasonable amount of faith in Jaylen Waddle. The request, submitted before the Broncos game, celebrated an undefeated start that had not yet technically happened. A minor detail, Ryan’s camp believed.

The proposed piece praised the Two-Timer for surviving the A.J. Brown injury, silencing doubters and extending a run of football brilliance. It also included the line, “Great commissioners find a way. Historic shitters find an excuse.” League archivists have since placed the quote in a secure location, alongside other items that aged badly in real time.

Then Waddle took the field. What followed was less of a breakout performance and more of a carefully documented Waddle Incident. Ryan’s projected coronation stalled, Josh Smith got the win, and the prewritten celebration was immediately reclassified from journalism to comedy.

Smith declined to offer a victory speech, explaining that Ryan had already provided enough material. Sources close to the commissioner’s office confirmed the original request was reviewed in full, nodded at respectfully and then returned to sender with a final note: “Please wait until Monday night is over.”

League officials have not issued any formal discipline, though future Ryan press releases may be required to include a scoreboard check before publication. Gary Dingleshit will continue monitoring the situation, especially if Waddle is ever again asked to carry a victory lap across the finish line.
